About Dr. Hudgins

I moved to Austin in 1990 from my home in south central Louisiana. I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology as well as a master’s degree in counseling from St. Edward’s University in Austin. I completed my pre doctoral training at Ohio State University, and earned my doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. I am a member of the Texas Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association, and I am fully licensed to practice psychology in the states of Texas and Colorado.

For over 20 years, I have worked and trained in various settings including social services, community support groups, state hospital extended care programs, therapeutic residential treatment for children, foster care, departments of behavioral medicine and family medicine in a hospital setting, community counseling, family counseling, chronic pain programs, and university counseling centers.

I welcome clients dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, life transitions, health issues, parenting, co parenting, pregnancy, infertility, relationships of any kind, work challenges, gender identity, sexual identity, introversion, and those who are highly sensitive.

I use a narrative approach to treatment, working collaboratively with my clients to support them in resolving their difficulties and moving toward their goals and aspirations.
